4 SEGMENTS – Annual ULUS Exhibition

The annual exhibition of the Association of Fine Artists of Serbia (ULUS), titled “4 SEGMENTS,” has opened at the “Cvijeta Zuzorić” Art Pavilion, bringing together works from all ULUS sections. This year’s exhibition offers an overview of contemporary artistic practices through four segments — four sections — each with full freedom to shape its own selection of works. The Painting Section presents 67 works, the Expanded Media Section 20, the Graphics Section 30 exhibitors, and the Sculpture Section 28 works. Mila Gvardiol participates in this year’s exhibition with a work from her current series "Interactions". Exhibition dates: November 27 – December 27, 2025 |
88th AUTUMN EXHIBITION

The Association of Fine Artists of Serbia (ULUS) opened its traditional event – the 88th ULUS Autumn Exhibition, titled “Reconstruction of Identity”, at the Art Pavilion “Cvijeta Zuzorić”. This year’s exhibition explores the relationship between individual and collective identity, personal and social transformations, and the ways in which artists respond to contemporary societal dynamics through their work. Winner, Challenge 2024, Collective 24, NNC Gallery

Mila Gvardiol has been selected as one of the winners of Challenge 2024 and is now part of Collective 24 of NNC Gallery. Each year, only 20 artists worldwide are chosen for this program, which includes international presentation through exhibitions, publications, and online platforms. The program also foresees the publication of a magazine dedicated to Collective 24 and the creation of personal exhibition pages on the gallery’s website. The award was given: September 5, 2025. |
57th MAY EXHIBITION

This year’s 57th May Exhibition of ULUPUDS, titled “Back (at last) to the Present!”, presents a representative overview of contemporary applied art practices in Serbia. The exhibition is hosted across several venues in Belgrade: Bioskop Balkan, the Residence of Princess Ljubica, the University Library "Svetozar Marković", and the Military Club Gallery. At the Bioskop Balkan venue, artist Mila Gvardiol is exhibiting a work from her Quo vadis series. The exhibition is open: May 5 – May 19, 2025. |

SOLO EXHIBITION: INTERACTIONS

At the Gallery of Contemporary Fine Arts Niš – Salon 77, on April 15, 2025, the 43rd solo exhibition by artist Mila Gvardiol, titled Interactions, was officially opened. This marks her third appearance at the institution, and her second within the Salon 77 exhibition space. The opening was led by art historian Milica Todorović. The exhibition features the premiere presentation of the Interactions series, showcasing nine acrylic paintings on canvas, in dimensions of 70×100 cm and 110×140 cm. ART IN SUPPORT
|
A humanitarian exhibition was held at the ULUS Gallery in support of artist Sonja Kostić. Colleagues from the association donated their works to help a fellow artist — a single mother and independent creator who is facing a serious illness. At the end of the exhibition, a public auction was organized, and all proceeds from the sold artworks were directed toward supporting Sonja’s medical treatment. The Painting and Graphics Section of ULUPUDS has opened the traditional "Small Format" exhibition at the Singidunum Gallery. BEST IN SHOW GRAND PRIZE

The paintings of Mila Gvardiol from the series 'Crossroads' and 'Quo vadis?' have been selected for inclusion in the printed version of the Light Pulse catalog and showcased in an online exhibition. Among the 34 international artists chosen by the curators, the group of artists including Mila Gvardiol received special recognition in the form of the Best in Show Grand Prize. The exhibition of Mila Gvardiol's paintings titled "Architectural Variations" has been officially opened at the Milorad Bata Mihailović Gallery in Pančevo. The introductory speech was delivered by Ivana Markez Filipović, an artist and curator from the Cultural Center of Pančevo, while Dr. Miona Marta Marković, an artist and art historian, also spoke about the artist's series. Additionally, the audience had the opportunity to hear from the artist herself about her inspiration and creative process. The exhibition features 16 works created in acrylic on canvas, primarily consisting of triptychs and polyptychs, offering a perspective on architecture. ART SALON 30x30 IN PANCEVO

A traveling exhibition, the Art Salon 30x30, has opened at the Gallery of Contemporary Art in Pančevo. This traditional international showcase offers a wealth of artistic expressions—from two-dimensional to three-dimensional works, all created in various techniques and disciplines. An interesting aspect of this exhibition is the format: two-dimensional works must be strictly 30x30 cm, while for three-dimensional works, one dimension must be 30 cm, and the other two must not exceed that. The 18th Art Salon 30x30 has opened at the Cultural Center Zrenjanin. This traditional international exhibition features two-dimensional and three-dimensional works executed in all techniques and disciplines. The only restriction was that two-dimensional works must be 30 by 30 centimeters in size, while for three-dimensional works, one dimension had to be 30 centimeters, with the other two not exceeding 30 centimeters. As part of the French graphic arts festival Fête de l`estampe 2023, the graphic section of ULUS organized a group exhibition of small format graphics called "Format graphics 2023". Festival Fête de l`estampe 2023 is organized by the French association of printmakers Manifestampe ‒ Fédération nationale de l'estampe. 99 artists from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro participated in the exhibition, with over 300 graphics in various techniques. Mila Gvardiol presented herself at this exhibition with digital graphics from the "Geometric Variations" series. The exhibition is open May 10 - 31, 2023. |
ARCHITECTURAL VARIATIONS AT THE SOLO EXHIBITION

The exhibition of Mila Gvardiol titled "Architectural Variations" was opened in the Contemporary City Gallery of the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Arandjelovac, Serbia. This was Mila's thirty-seventh solo exhibition, but the first presentation of this series of paintings. At the opening night, gallery curator Danijela Mladenović, Ph.D., presented the author, and artist and art historian Miona Marta Marković, Ph.D., spoke about Mila's art works from the mentioned series, as well as the author herself. The New York global art network Artorful awarded Mila Gvardiol with certificate for winning one of the Top ten places for the painting "Through the Kaleidoscope" (acrylic on canvas, 100x70cm) within the "Colors 2023" competition. FIRST PRIZE AT "MINIATURA 7"

A traditional, 7 in a row, small format exhibition called "Small format 7" was opened in the Small Gallery of ULUPUDUS. For this exhibition, the selection jury made up of members of the Art Council of ULUPUDS and gallery curators selected the art works of 138 artists of different generations, spheres of interest and poetics, who adequately responded to the given dimensions (up to 20 x 20 cm). Various materials (ceramics, textiles, wood, metal, leather...), artistic expressions (paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs, icons, accessories, assemblages...) and themes (landscapes, abstraction, figuration...) are what make this exhibition at which presented more than 200 works. The Art Council of ULUPUDS awarded Mili Guardiol the 1st prize for the painting from the "Geometric Variations" series, the 2nd prize went to Marija Zindovic, the 3rd prize to Sylvia Kovjenic, while the jury's praises went to: Ivani Prazic, Stefan Todorovic and Vera Parezanovic. The 6th Triennial of Extended Media of the Association of Fine Artists of Serbia, entitled "Unpublished Materials", was opened in the Art Pavilion of Cvijeta Zuzorić. The first segment of the exhibition consists of works dealing with Landscape and the theme of Errors. On that occasion, Mila Gvardiol presented herself to the audience with digital graphics from the Glitch art series called "Horizons". At the exhibition "Miniature 6" opened in the Small Gallery of ULUPUDS, organized by the Association of Fine Artists of Applied Arts and Designers of Serbia, Mila Gvardiol received praise from the jury for the painting from the series "Geometric Variations". The 16th Art Salon 30 × 30 was opened in the Cultural Center of Zrenjanin, Serbia. DONOR ACTION FOR THE ENDANGERED CROATIAN POPULATION

Reputable monthly magazine "Diplomacy & Commerce" is in cooperation with the Croatian Business Club in Belgrade, N.E. Croatian Ambassador in Serbia, Hidajet Biscevic, journalist Duska Jovanić and numerous other artists and public figures from Serbia organized a humanitarian action selling paintings and photographs entitled "Artists from Serbia for Glina, Petrinja and Sisak - painters and photographers for the population affected by the earthquake in Croatia“. On this occasion, Mila Gvardiol donated a painting from the Stairs series, which was sold together with the other 21 works of art donated by artists from various fields. During this action, over 800 thousand dinars were collected. The formal reception was held at the Croatian Embassy in Belgrade, and the program was attended by the Croatian Ambassador in Serbia, N.J. E. Hidajet Biscevic, Boban Coban President of Color Press Group and initiator of this humanitarian action, as well as program manager, singer and actor Frano Lasić The action lasted: January 8. - February 1. 2021. |

A painting by Mila Gvardiol from the series Stairs has won first prize at the virtual exhibition called VIRTUAL MESSAGES which was presented by the International Visual Literacy Association (IVLA). The exhibition was juried by Peter Capreau, senior curator, M Leuven (Belgium); Petronio Bendito, associate professor, designer, artist, and curator, Purdue University (USA); and Dana Statton Thompson, vice-president of IVLA, research and instruction librarian, assistant professor, Murray State University (USA).

97 works were received at the competition for the first collective exhibition organized by the National Library "Veljko Dugosevic" from Golubac. The jury chose 41 works by authors from the Republic of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia. Small work of art (up to 30cm x 40cm) were exhibited at this exhibition and three prizes were awarded.
